We are a Green School, and we promote and acknowledge long-term, whole school action for the environment.

We have participated in the programme for many years and have successfully achieved the following flags: Litter and Waste, Energy, Water and Travel.

Our Green Schools committee are Eoin Cahill, Ilarlia Nalyvaiko, Nicole Hanratty, Charlotte Smith, Lucas Reilly, Leah Plunkett, Caden Clarke and Anthony Vaughan

National Tree Week took place from Sunday 3rd March to Sunday 10th March. This year’s theme was “Planting Trees for a Greener Future”. Our school was lucky enough to be donated a wild cherry tree which was planted by members of our Green School committee and our 3rd and 4th class.

The Green School committee had a great morning on Thursday helping to prepare the community garden at the football pitch. They put down netting, raked the soil, painted the fence and planted hundreds of bulbs. We can’t wait until the flowers and plants grow!
