Each class has two parent/guardian representatives on the Parent’s Association Committee. The Class Rep role is primarily a communication link between parents and guardians and the PA Committee, ensuring that suggestions, ideas, issues and concerns are relayed to the PA Committee if appropriate and resolutions are fed back to the people who raised them.

We are fortunate to have a dedicated parent body and as a school, we value this.

Being an active member of the Parent Association enables parents to gain greater insight into their child’s school life and learning. It also gives parents an opportunity to work together towards improving our school community.

Partnership between home and school is important because with positive and active partnership the child gets the best that primary education can offer. We know from research that:

  • Children do better, behave better and are happier at school when parents and teachers work closely together and when parents are able to give their children support at home.
  • Teachers can do a better job when they are supported by and work closely with parents.
  • Parents can do a better job when they have the support of other parents.

The Parent Association is not a forum for complaint against either an individual teacher or parent. The Complaints’ Procedure is the mechanism for this.
